My Drama app: what it is, whether it's free, what it costs and how to cancel
We make TotalShort, a short drama app: we say so wherever it matters. Facts about other apps come from their official App Store and Google Play pages and may change.
In short: My Drama is a real, widely used short drama app. Holy Water Limited publishes it, the US App Store shows 4.7 from 54K ratings, and it's rated 16+. Downloading is free; after that you pay. The US listing shows coins at $4.99, $9.99 and $24.99, "Premium" at $4.99 and $9.99, "Refill" subscriptions at $2.99, $9.99 and $19.99, and "Full Access" at $19.99. What the listing doesn't say is what matters most: how long each subscription lasts and how many coins an episode costs. Read both on the purchase sheet before you confirm. Listing read on October 6, 2026.

What the My Drama app is
Who makes it and since when
My Drama is an app of short vertical series built for your phone. According to Wikipedia, Holywater Tech launched it in 2024 with episodes of two to three minutes; by September 2025 it had passed 40 million lifetime users, and in October 2025 the company announced a deal with Fox Entertainment to produce more than 200 vertical series for the platform [3]. On the App Store the publisher is listed as Holy Water Limited [1]. New to the format? Start with what a short drama is.
What the listing promises
The description talks about unlocking full access to more than 80 exclusive original series [1]. It's a catalog built on its own productions rather than licensed titles, so the price you pay is really a price for the one series you get hooked on.
The facts we could verify
Everything below comes from the official App Store listings, read on October 6, 2026 [1][2].
| Item | What the listings say |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Holy Water Limited |
| US rating | 4.7 out of 5, 54K ratings |
| Italian rating | 4.6 out of 5, about 5,200 ratings |
| Age rating | 16+ |
| Price | Free, with in-app purchases |
| Interface languages | English and 19 more, including Spanish, French, German and Italian |
| Category | Entertainment |
The 16+ rating sits above most of the apps we compare, which run from 13+ to 18+. If a teenager will be using it, check that first.

How much My Drama costs
Every purchase on the US listing
| Purchase | Listed price |
|---|---|
| Coins | $4.99, $9.99, $24.99 |
| Premium | $4.99, $9.99 |
| My Drama Refill Subscription | $2.99, $9.99, $19.99 |
| My Drama: Full Access | $19.99 |
The Italian listing shows the same products in euros, from €1.99 for the smallest coin pack to €29.99 for the largest, with Full Access at €22.99 [2]. Prices change by country, so trust your own purchase sheet over any table, ours included.
What the listing leaves out
Two things are missing, and they're the two that decide your bill. First, the billing period: "Subscription" tells you it renews, not whether that's every week, month or year. Second, how many coins come in each pack and how many an episode costs. Without those numbers you can't work out what a series costs from the listing, so we don't pretend to.
What reviewers say (not confirmed)
User reviews on the US listing keep coming back to the same points: a subscription they describe as $19.99 a week, a "free trial" that turned out to mean a few episodes, coin prices that feel steep per episode, and account access problems [1]. These are reviewers' accounts, not the developer's terms, and we can't verify them. Treat them as a reason to check the per-episode cost inside the app before you buy.
One worked example, stated as an assumption
If Full Access at $19.99 renewed weekly, which the listing doesn't say, four weeks would cost 4 × $19.99 = $79.96 and a year 52 × $19.99 = $1,039.48. If it renewed monthly, a year would be 12 × $19.99 = $239.88. That gap is the whole argument for reading the billing period before you tap Confirm.
Is My Drama free?
What's actually free
Downloading and opening the app costs nothing [1]. How many episodes of each series are free isn't on the listing, so we won't make up a number: you see it when you open a series. Reviewers also mention earning coins by watching ads, with a cap, but that isn't on the listing either. Check the rules in the app before you count on it.
How to watch for free without getting burned
Watch the free episodes, then stop and decide with a clear head. Skip modded versions and any site promising "free coins": they aren't official, and they put your account at risk. The legal ways to watch without paying, app by app, are in our guide to free short dramas.
Is My Drama legit?
Why it's a real app
It has a named publisher, tens of thousands of ratings in two countries, and charges that go through Apple or Google rather than some unknown payment page. Wikipedia documents its growth and its Fox Entertainment deal [3]. Legit isn't the same as cheap, though: the real risk is a subscription that keeps renewing while you're not looking.
What the privacy label says
In the privacy section of the US listing, the data that may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites includes purchases, location, contact info and identifiers; the data linked to you also includes user content and search history [1]. If tracking bothers you, decline it when iOS asks on first launch.
A checklist to run yourself
Seven checks before you pay any short drama app
- Who publishes it?A named developer on the official store listing, not a link from a social post.
- How many ratings?A 4.9 from 200 ratings means less than a 4.7 from 200,000.
- What is the billing period?Weekly, monthly or yearly: it is on the purchase sheet, read it before you confirm.
- Does it renew by itself?Subscriptions renew until you cancel with Apple or Google.
- What does one unlock cost?Turn coins into money before you spend them.
- Is there a free route?Free episodes, bonuses or ads: see how far they really get you.
- Does the age rating fit?Stores rate these apps from 13+ to 18+; check who will watch.
How not to spend more than you meant to
iPhone: block in-app purchases
Open Settings, tap Screen Time, then Apps & Websites, then App Store, tap In-app Purchases and choose Blocked [4]. Unblock them only on the evening you mean to buy. With Family Sharing, Ask to Buy sends every request to an adult.
Android: purchase verification and a budget
In the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Purchase verification, and require it for every purchase [5]. Google's subscription center puts all your subscriptions in one place and lets you set a monthly budget [6].
The reminder rule
The day you subscribe, put a calendar reminder two days before the renewal. It's the simplest habit there is, and it heads off most surprise charges.
Who My Drama suits, and who should look elsewhere
You want a big catalog of original series
The listing talks about more than 80 original series, and Wikipedia about productions with Fox Entertainment [1][3]. If that's what you're after, it's worth a try, starting with the free episodes.
You watch a few episodes now and then
Coins are more predictable than a subscription: nothing renews behind your back. Start with the smallest pack and see what an episode really costs.
You're buying for a teenager
It's rated 16+. Decide whether that fits, then turn on Ask to Buy or block in-app purchases before you install it.
You want it in another language
The interface comes in 20 languages [1], but the description doesn't promise dubbing or subtitles for every series. Open the first episode of the series you want and check the audio and subtitle options in the player before paying.

Only apps whose listing labels a purchase as weekly. Read on October 2, 2026. ReelShort and DramaBox list subscriptions without stating the period on the listing, so they are not charted. TotalShort: our weekly VIP price for the US App Store, set for launch; the app isn’t in the stores yet.
The TotalShort option
We make TotalShort, so weigh this section accordingly. It's a short drama app with a small catalog: four Italian-set series, made with AI and labeled as such, in episodes of 34 to 64 seconds. The first 8 episodes of every series are free, then one a day per series, and today you watch it in your browser at totalshort.com with no sign-up.
The arithmetic of finishing a TotalShort series
- 8 episodes
- freeevery series
- Episodes 9–12
- 4 × 30 coins= 120 coins = €1.20
- Or the free daily episode
- 1 per series per dayfree in 4 days
- VIP break-even
- €5.99 ÷ €0.30≈ 20 paid episodes a week
Coins are worth €0.01 each. Prices of coin packs and VIP are shown in the app before every purchase. They are in euros; on the US App Store the weekly VIP is set at $5.99, and the store always shows your country’s price before you pay.
The honest limits: four series is nothing next to My Drama's catalog, there are no live actors, and the iPhone and Android apps are coming soon, not yet downloadable. To see whether the format works for you before paying anyone, try episode 1 of The Ex-Wife.
How to cancel a My Drama subscription
You don't cancel inside the app. You cancel with the store that bills you, Apple or Google.
Where to tap to cancel
iPhone and iPad
- Settings
- Your name, at the top
- Subscriptions
- The app’s subscription
- Cancel Subscription
Android
- Play Store
- Profile picture, top right
- Payments & subscriptions
- Subscriptions
- The app’s subscription
- Cancel subscription
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. On iPhone you may have to scroll to see the button, and an expiration message in red means it is already cancelled. Can’t find it? On iPhone, look for the Apple receipt in your email to see which Apple Account paid; on Android it may be on another Google account, so switch accounts in the Play Store.

What happens next
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app cancels nothing. Refunds aren't up to My Drama but to Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play [7][8]. Our cancellation guide covers every case, including "I can't find the subscription".
Common mistakes
Reading the price without the period
$19.99 a month and $19.99 a week aren't the same spend: over a month, the weekly one costs more than four times as much. Read the billing period on Apple's or Google's sheet before the price.
Mistaking "Refill" for a one-off purchase
"Refill Subscription" has the word subscription in it: it renews. If you only wanted a few coins, pick a "Coins" pack.
Buying coins before you know what an episode costs
Check how many coins the next episode takes before you buy the pack, not after.
Deleting the app to stop paying
Deleting the app doesn't touch the subscription. Cancel it in Apple's or Google's settings.
Cancelling on the last day
Apple advises cancelling a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends [7]. Cancel as soon as you decide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the My Drama app?
It's a short drama app: vertical series with episodes of two to three minutes, made for your phone. According to Wikipedia, Holywater Tech launched it in 2024; by September 2025 it had more than 40 million lifetime users, and in October 2025 it signed a deal with Fox Entertainment for more than 200 vertical series [3]. On the App Store the publisher is Holy Water Limited, the app is rated 16+, and the US listing shows 4.7 from 54K ratings [1]. It's free to download and you pay with coins or subscriptions. If you want the format explained first, our guide to what a short drama is takes two minutes.
Is My Drama free?
It's free to download and open, with in-app purchases [1]. How many episodes of each series are free isn't on the listing, so you find out when you open a series. After the opening episodes you need coins or a subscription. Reviewers also mention coins earned by watching ads, with a cap, but that isn't on the listing: check the rules and any expiry in the app before you rely on it. For comparison, on TotalShort the first 8 episodes of every series are free and one more unlocks each day.
Is My Drama legit?
Yes, in the sense that matters: it's a real app from a named publisher, with tens of thousands of ratings and payments handled by Apple or Google [1][2]. Wikipedia documents its growth and its Fox Entertainment deal [3]. That doesn't mean every series is worth the price. The thing to watch is a subscription that renews on its own, and the privacy label says some data, including purchases and location, may be used to track you across other apps [1]. Install it only from the App Store or Google Play, and set a purchase limit before your first payment.
How much does My Drama cost?
On the US listing read on October 6, 2026: coins at $4.99, $9.99 and $24.99; Premium at $4.99 and $9.99; Refill Subscription at $2.99, $9.99 and $19.99; Full Access at $19.99 [1]. The listing gives neither the billing period of the subscriptions nor the coin cost of an episode, so you can't price a series in advance. Reviewers describe a $19.99 weekly subscription, which we can't confirm. Before you pay, read on Apple's or Google's sheet how long the purchase lasts and whether it renews by itself.
Is there a free trial on My Drama?
The listing doesn't describe one. Some reviewers say a "free trial" they were offered turned out to mean a few free episodes rather than days of access, but that's their account, not the developer's terms [1]. If you're offered a trial, Apple's purchase sheet shows when it ends and what it renews into. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want to pay, and note the date the moment you start [7].
Is My Drama safe for kids?
It's rated 16+ on the App Store [1], above the 13+ of many short drama apps. If a younger teen will use the phone, that rating is the first thing to weigh. On iPhone, Ask to Buy or blocking in-app purchases in Screen Time stops surprise spending [4]; on Android, Google Play purchase verification does the same [5]. Set these up before installing, not after the first charge.
How do I cancel My Drama?
Not in the app. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, My Drama, Cancel Subscription; an expiration date in red means it's already cancelled [7]. On Android: Play Store, profile picture, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, My Drama, Cancel subscription [8]. Deleting the app cancels nothing. You keep access until the end of the paid period, and cancelling at least a day before renewal avoids the next charge. Ask Apple or Google Play for refunds. Our cancellation guide also covers what to do if the subscription doesn't show up.
Who owns My Drama?
The App Store lists Holy Water Limited as the publisher [1]. Wikipedia credits the app's 2024 launch to Holywater Tech, which in early 2026 bought the AI studio Jeynix and signed production deals with Fox Entertainment [3]. For you, the practical point is simpler: you pay through Apple or Google, and that's where you manage subscriptions, cancellation and refunds, whoever produces the series.
